Community Development Practice Hub

Community Development Practice Hub

The Community Development Practice Hub is a resource for people and organisations who ‘work with’ people in Birmingham so they can take collective action to make changes to things that are important to them and their communities.

We aim to connect, inspire and upskill community development practitioners across Birmingham.

Come join us on this exciting journey, as we collaborate with the sector to offer a tailored approach with a focus on Birmingham-specific learning, challenges, and achievements.

Have you attended Great Community Meetings or Great Community Groups?

Would you like to refresh your skills and connect with other people creating great thinking spaces in their communities?

Then Question Club is for you.

Question Club is a chance to practise your meeting skills  – rounds, thinking pairs, thinking in small and large groups – and to have time to have time to think about the agenda questions that will get you to the outcomes you need.

Over the four sessions of the course, we’ll focus on a different aspect of questions:

  • How can help people connect?
  • What makes a powerful question?
  • How can we use questions to plan a longer/more complex session?
  • How can we use questions to make decisions and take action together?

We'll be meeting fortnightly, so there’ll also be time to put your questions into practice, and reflect together on what works.

    The course dates are:

On zoom, Thursdays from 9:30-11:00 on the following dates (candidates are required to attend all dates):

    • 23 May
    • 6 June
    • 20 June
    • 4 July

This is part of the Community Development Practice Hub, connecting, inspiring and upskilling community development practitioners across Brimingham.

We have 12 free places for anyone who has previously attended Great Community Meetings or Groups – if you’d like to join, please make sure that you are able to attend every session.
