It's community supporting community, and we're incredibly grateful to everyone who chooses to play and make a difference.Being part of a West Midlands networking group, “BNI Action”, has given us a fantastic platform to raise awareness of Birmingham Community Lottery. Rather than asking businesses to make large donations, we're able to offer them a simple way to support Cerebral Palsy Midlands for just £1 a week, while also giving them the chance to win prizes of up to £25,000. It's an easy conversation to have because everyone loves the idea of doing something good while having the opportunity to win something in return. It's become one of our most effective and sustainable fundraising conversations."Image: CPM citizens supported on a weekend vacation at the Big Tin Barn in Somerset in June 2026.Cathryn Worth from Queen Alexandra Charity: "QAC supports young adults with learning difficulties and disabilities through education, residential services and community services. The Birmingham Community Lottery offers the charity the opportunity to bring in unrestricted income which is getting harder to access. Unrestricted income enables the charity to direct the funding to where it is most urgently needed. It also provides us a way to support the charity for £1 a week with the additional bonus of being in with a chance of winning a prize - monetary or otherwise. What's not to like?"Image: advertisement in printed newspaper, an example of how Queen Alexandra Charity went about promoting the lottery.Glynis Powell from Castle Bromwich Hall Gardens: “Our small charity looks after 40 acres of inner city, historic and protected, green space. All our volunteers and staff really love being here and feel incredibly privileged to share the beauty and pleasure of the Gardens with so many local visitors. We don't receive any regular funding so finding ways of raising funds is always on our mind. We love Birmingham Community Lottery because it's so simple to run, 50p of every ticket sold comes directly to us and our supporters have a real chance of winning something too. It really works both ways. Small investments by individual supporters returning dividends for us all locally.”Image: an event at Castle Bromwich Hall Gardens.Play Birmingham Community LotteryTickets are available at www.birminghamcommunitylottery.co.uk.
