Community Researcher Opportunities Birmingham City Council’s Public Health Team and BVSC are working in partnership to train members of the community to become Community Researchers and take part in a research project about headaches in the Pakistani population. We are looking for people from the Pakistani Community to become trained Community Researchers. We want to speak to people without any previous experience of research, but with an interest in their community and a desire to learn new skills. The Birmingham Culturally Intelligent Approach to Headache disorder in Pakistani Communities is a project by Birmingham City Council’s Public Health division, funded by the pharmaceutical company, Pfizer. The project will develop community-led research into the prevalence of chronic headaches and migraines in parts of the Pakistani population in East Birmingham. This research will be used to co-develop culturally intelligent materials, for both individuals and healthcare providers, and empower community influencers to support increased awareness and understanding of the contributory factors for headaches and migraines for the community, how they can be prevented and when to seek clinical advice. The training will be held at BVSC in Birmingham city centre in early October (dates to be confirmed), and trainees will be paid for completing their research. If you would like to register your interest in this project, please send an email putting Headaches as the email subject, to [email protected] Community Research Headaches Flyer Manage Cookie Preferences
