Do you work with young people aged 15-17 in the East or West Midlands who could be considered vulnerable or at risk? Positive Pathways is a fully funded research study delivered by Ingeus and funded by the Youth Endowment Fund (YEF), aiming to motivate, support, and inspire teens to change course and thrive.By referring a young person, you’re giving them the opportunity to take part in a unique project designed to build skills, confidence, and resilience. There is no cost to the referral organisation, parent/guardian or young person. Who is Eligible? A young person must: Be 15–17 years old Live in the East or West Midlands Be willing to take part in a research study (answering an anonymous survey at the start and at the end of programme) Provide parent/guardian consent The criteria for eligibility is wide ranging and at risk 15-17 year olds includes behaviour, health and vulnerability, this extends to those disadvantaged, at risk of NEET, possible association/ affiliations within peer groups or directly linked with criminality, at risk of exploitation as well as EHCP, SEND, LAC and Social, Emotional and Mental Health. What Happens If They’re Eligible?Young people who join the study will be randomly allocated to one of two groups: 🔹 Intervention Group A five-day residential experience A dedicated Mentor for up to 7 months A celebration event at the end of programme 🔸 Control Group A £50 enrichment voucher to spend on an enrichment activity for the young person Both groups receive a £20 voucher for completing the research survey at the end of the programme. Why Research?The purpose of the research study is a comparison of two groups to gather information and evaluate whether taking part in mentoring and outdoor activities is a positive early intervention to steer young people away from negative behaviours. Please note: Young people are selected at random during a process called Randomisation. We do not have any input who is selected in either control or intervention group. Ready to Refer?
