Come and Talk to Us
Community Conversations in Your Area
Staying independent. Finding support early. Connecting with what’s already around you.

Adult Social Care is coming into communities across Birmingham to listen, share information and have friendly, informal conversations about everyday life, independence and local support.

This is not an assessment and not a crisis service. It’s a chance to talk, ask questions and discover what’s available near you.

What happens at a Community Conversation?

Each session lasts around 60 minutes and includes:

• A short, plain-language explanation of what Adult Social Care is – and isn’t
• Community Network Support Officers explaining how they help people access early support
• Neighbourhood Network Schemes and Community Connectors sharing what’s happening locally
• Time for open conversation, questions and feedback

Afterwards, there will be a local community marketplace, where community groups, voluntary organisations and wellbeing providers will be showcasing what’s available in your area.

No jargon. No pressure. Just conversation and connection.

Why come along?

• Stay independent for longer
• Feel more confident asking for help early
• Know what support exists before a crisis
• Find local groups, activities and social opportunities

These events focus on prevention, community connection and first steps – not eligibility or assessments.

Who is it for?

• Anyone aged 18+
• Residents, carers, neighbours and community members
• Anyone who wants to understand what support is available locally
