Leadership and Strategy Trustees VCFSE organisations are led by a board of trustees who have the general control and management of the administration of the organisation. Sometimes trustees are given other titles such as governors, councillors or management committee members. These are voluntary rather than paid positions (though appropriate expenses are reimbursed), and most people can become trustees, however they generally need to be over the age of 18, or over 16 if the organisation is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO). Many VCFSE organisations welcome, and indeed actively seek, trustees with a business background, particularly as they have key business skills which would support the organisation. Benefits of being a trustee include: Boost your career through development of experience and skills Opportunity to make a difference to your community through helping a cause you love Share your skills, knowledge and experience with others If you, or colleagues in your business, are interested in becoming a trustee of a VCFSE organisation, available positions are advertised on our Community Noticeboard.
