Recruit new volunteers for your activity with Volunteer Brum!

BVSC have recently launched Volunteer Brum, a digital platform designed to connect Voluntary, Community, Faith, and Social Enterprise (VCFSE) organisations in Birmingham with volunteers keen to support local services, activities, and events. The platform also offers residents opportunities to make a meaningful impact in their community.

The platform is promoted widely to Birmingham’s residents. To ensure it’s filled with great opportunities for people to get involved and support the city, we’re inviting you to participate by adding your volunteering roles.

If you’re a VCFSE organisation that involves volunteers, Volunteer Brum is an excellent way to advertise your volunteering roles, engage with potential volunteers, and share your opportunities across your social media channels.

BVSC are offering several free webinars, which will outline the process of registering an account, setting up your opportunities, and the variety of options that are available to make the platform work best for you. We'll also make a recording of the session available afterwards for all attendees. Please use the links below to sign up for whichever sessions suits you best!

If you can't make our webinars, below you’ll find some helpful instructions on how to get started with the platform. If you need support, contact [email protected]

Getting started

  1. Create an account

To get started, head to https://www.volunteerbrum.org/  In the top righthand corner of the page, you’ll see a button to ‘create an account’.

Select the button, add your information to the short form and submit it.

Once you’ve submitted the form, you will receive an automated email to verify your account. If you don’t receive the email, check your spam or junk folder. If you don’t receive it within a few minutes, select ‘Resend email’ on your screen.

2. Add your organisation

Once you’ve verified your account, you’ll be able to log-in with your email address and chosen password. Once you’re logged in, select the button in the top righthand corner which will show your initials. Then select ‘+Create Organisation’.

Use the form to add your organisation information, including its name, address, logo and a short description of what you do. Then submit the form. Your organisation will be approved within two working days, and you will receive an email to let you know when your organisation has been approved.

3. Add your volunteering opportunities

Once your organisation has been approved, you can add your volunteering opportunities by selecting the green ‘+ Add Activity’ button on your organisation page.

Complete the form with as much information as possible about the volunteering role and explain why it’s an exciting opportunity to be part of. If your activity benefits peoples' health & wellbeing, make sure to use the Volunteering for Health tag.

When you’re ready, publish your role. Once you’ve published the role, it will be live on the platform for local people to find and apply. Be sure to regular respond to enquiries that you receive through the platform and log in to update or remove roles once they are filled.

4. Additional Users

If there are others in your organisation who support volunteers, you can add them to your organisation so that they can also add and update volunteering opportunities. To add a user, go to your organisation, and select ‘People’ on the lefthand side. Then select the green ‘Add’ button.

You can add their email address, or a copy a link to invite them to join your organisation.
