Supplytrain CIC, a social enterprise that works with employers to create fairer routes into work, are supporting Jobs Guarantee Scheme, a new government-funded initiative in the West Midlands, designed to help young people in Birmingham and Solihull move into work. Through the scheme, employers can offer a 6-month placement with no wage costs, creating a supportive route back into employment for young people who need that opportunity. For employers, this equates to roughly a £9,000 grant per placement, while also providing additional capacity within their teams.

If you are a young person in Birmingham or Solihull looking to participate in a Jobs Guarantee: West Midlands work placement, please speak to your Jobcentre Plus work coach, who will be able to refer you into the programme. We will support you through the process from there. 

- Talking through the scheme and whether it’s a good fit
- Managing the vacancy setup and process
- Handling engagement so there’s no need to work directly with the Jobcentre
- Delivery partner Catch22 provides ongoing employability support to the young person throughout the placement
