The Resettlement Team at SIFA Fireside aims to help people who are moving from a background of homelessness and disadvantage to a more settled lifestyle. The project aims to provide clients with ongoing support to enter and sustain employment and address issues such as mental health, tenancy and budgeting, citizenship and status and to overcome other barriers they may face. The end-result is for clients to become more independent of support services; live settled, healthier lives, with a reduced risk of a return to homelessness, offending or substance misuse.

BVSC Research was commissioned to undertake an evaluation of the Resettlement Service. The primary aims of the evaluation were to provide independent evidence on progress against the project’s outcomes and their indicators for the two main funders – the National Lottery Community Fund and the Lloyds TSB Foundation; identify impact for clients; identify critical success factors, areas for improvement and lessons learned and make recommendations to inform the future direction of the service.
