Is there a particular area that you work or would like to work in? Is your area of work neighbourhood/community-based, at ward/constituency level, a certain part of Birmingham City, City-wide, Regional, National or even International?

Working with Place-Based Networks –

Although BVSC and our partners work across Birmingham City, we also work with place-based/ geographical networks, including supporting key anchor organisations to work with other organisations and citizens in particular communities.

If your organisation works in, or would like to work in a particular place or geographical area of the City then you may consider engaging with or joining one of these networks, dependent upon your area of interest, to get support for your organisation and beneficiaries and the opportunity to meet other organisations operating in these areas.

The main place-based networks and constituent anchor organisations we work with include:

Neighbourhood Network Schemes (NNS)

NNS aim to help older adults and adults with disabilities to lead healthy, happy and independent lives in their own homes and communities.

Birmingham City Council has developed and funds NNS and BVSC provides support.

These work across the ten Birmingham constituencies.

Each constituency has a lead organisation or partnership which develops the NNS. In eight of Birmingham’s constituencies, this is a voluntary sector organisation. In two constituencies, Selly Oak and Perry Barr, the City Council’s Neighbourhood Development Support Unit is the lead facilitator. The map below shows the current lead facilitators in each constituency.
