"We are deeply honoured to be nominated for YMCA of the Year at the Youth Matters Awards," said Joy Scott-Thompson, CEO of YMCA Sutton Coldfield. "This recognition underscores the incredible efforts of our team, volunteers, and, most importantly, the young people we serve. We believe in the power of community and the difference we can make together. We urge everyone to vote for us and help us continue to inspire and support our youth."

Charlotte Hall, Youth Project Manager said of the Young Worker of the Year nomination; “Tim has been working on our youth project whilst attending college to gain his degree. He runs a football / sports club in a new area of the city for us and has gained a large group of regular attendees. He goes into schools and provides 1:1 mentoring for young carers to help them navigate their life experiences. All the young people he works with find him super approachable and easy to talk to and school contacts always speak highly of him. Tim is a great member of our team and we are very lucky to have him working with us”.

Tim Beesley, Young Worker of the Year nominee said; “Giving young people the chance to be young people, supporting them in their day to day lives and watching them make positive progress in the hurdles they face is what makes youth work so rewarding for me.”

Parveen Akhtar, Housing Service Manager said; “It’s a great honour to be nominated for the Housing Project of the Year. This recognises and celebrates the work and commitment our team has had over the past 12 months to providing individualised support to all of our residents on their journey towards independence”
