Boost the Sports Workforce of the Future in the Birmingham! CIMSPA, The Chartered Body for Sport & Physical Activity, is on a mission to professionalise the sector by raising awareness about opportunities and skills needed for roles. Local manager Matt Hammett is calling on local sports and physical activity providers to offer valuable work experience and volunteering opportunities, especially for youngsters needing life skills and practical guidance.

Matt Hammett says: "Many apply for jobs but lack the life experience needed. By connecting volunteering opportunities with pathways to work, we can prepare the workforce of tomorrow to be more 'work-ready'." There are many benefits for providers, including professional recognition through CIMSPA and advice and guidance on business development.

West Midlands Multibank Reaches One Million Milestone to Help Families in Need

One million essential items have been distributed to families in need across the region through the West Midlands Multibank since the project was launched just over a year ago. The milestone was celebrated by BVSC, who oversee the West Midlands Multibank alongside funders Comic Relief and Sport Relief. The West Midlands Multibank receives donations from businesses such as Amazon to distribute to a network of over 200 community partners who then distribute them to families most in need.
